Announcement

Latest Update – Dec 09 – Happy Holidays!

Hello All,

As part of the last release, which includes the Search by Data feature mentioned in a previous email, we have updated https://www.biocatalogue.org with the following:

– A brand new homepage that tells you what is currently happening in the BioCatalogue and gives more information about the project in general.
– Revamped header with a smaller footprint and clearer navigation options.
– Ability to annotate Service Provider profiles with preferred display name, alternative names, descriptions, contact details and websites. Anyone who is a member can provide this information.
– New “Data Format” field for SOAP input/output ports.
– New Getting Started guide [1] and help pages [2].

Please do give us feedback and suggestions.

Early next year we will be releasing a brand new service monitoring feature which uses test scripts, together with the REST API to the BioCatalogue, the final merge of the EMBRACE Registry, a feature to monitor changes in WSDLs and better support for describing REST services in the BioCatalogue.

We will then be focusing on integration with other environments like myExperiment and Taverna, as well as further developing the API, better curation tools and introducing the exciting new Functional Units feature.

More information is available on our roadmap – http://bit.ly/biocat_roadmap

We’d like to once again thank all those who took part in the successful annotation jamboree and everyone else who has helped drive and improve the BioCatalogue this year.

Wishing you happy holidays and a prosperous new year.

– The BioCatalogue Team
